Each of our puppies comes with a three-year health warranty. This covers any debilitating genetic defect, most notably canine hip dysplasia. It seems that dogs with hip dysplasia sometimes do not have symptoms until after they are two years old. I feel it is necessary to safe guard the new puppy’s owner against any possible problems even though I am confident of my puppies’ high health. I stand behind each of my puppies raised here at Sunnyside Meadows. All my Golden Retriever parents have had their hips tested and have met the requirement of either the Orthopedic Foundation of America to be considered a low risk of passing on bad hips. My Parents are CHIC certified. You may request a copy of each parent’s test record, and I will send it to you.
Please keep in mind that an ideal weight for a dog is extremely important for its health and is approximately the weight where the last 3 to 5 ribs are just barely visible or can be felt with a very light touch. If your dog is overweight, those extra pounds are causing undue stress on skeletal joints of an otherwise healthy structure. So maintain the weight and I will maintain my warranty.
